Full or part time Research Assistant job in BMBF Project Exprimage

 In the context of the Exprimage project the RWTH Aachen Information Systems Department is concerned with the automatic support of clinical diagnosis in the area of breast cancer.

It focuses on the computer based analysis of digital slice images of tumors that were removed surgically. For this purpose approaches of image recognition and classification of image details via machine learning are carried out and their results are correlated with other clinical diagnostic findings.

In this process effective data management and flexible customisation of level and access of information play a central role. A data base system for the support of the analysis and the configuration of further analysis steps is currently under development. This system is connected to a network of visual exploration tools that permanently developed further.

In the technical sense the system builds up from modules realised in MatLab, Java, Qt and Python. We expect at least rudimentary knowledge in those environments. The work place is Sankt Augustin, Schloss Birlinghoven.
