Accenture Campus Innovation Challenge 2017: RWTH Students Achieve Second Place in Nationwide Final

After winning the university final as well as the regionwide final of this year’s Accenture Campus Innovation Challenge, the interdisciplinary student group of RWTH-Aachen University achieved the second place in the nationwide final among competing universities from German speaking countries and Luxembourg.

Alice Minet, Thomas Liepe, Tayfun Kücükyareli, Alexander Stolz and Jonas Broschart supervised by Mehmet Riza Sahin, Markus Beutel and Christoph Quix invented a solution to ease, improve and optimize industrial maintenance processes, using advanced object recognition techniques. After analyzing requirements of the steel industry domain, they presented a technical concept, a suitable business model and showed promising cost saving potentials.
