Roadmap

  • May 2005 - September 2005: Development of LIP Editor. The aim is to provide a LIP editor as complete as possible.
  • September 2005: LIP Editor 1.0 released. The resulting LIP Learner models are valid against the latest version of IMS LIP XML Schema Definition version 1.0.1 available at http://www.imsglobal.org/profiles/.

  • Create a new LIP-compliant Learner Model
  • Edit a LIP-compliant Learner Model
  • Import a LIP-compliant Learner Model into LIP Editor
  • Save a Learner Model to the file system as XML file
  • Save a Learner Model into XML native database (tested with eXist DB)
  • The Learner Model is shown in the left frame of the LIP Editor either as XML DOM Tree view or as XML code text

There are five demos available:

  1. Create a new Learner Model
  2. Open Learner Model
  3. Save Learner Model to File System
  4. Save Learner Model to XML DB
  5. Edit Learner Model

Manual Installer

Download LIP Editor version 1.0 cross-platform Manual Install (7.60 MB) here: LIPEditor.zip.

Installation Notes

  1. Download LIPEditor.zip
  2. Extract the contents of the zip file to your hard-drive
  3. To run the application, locate and  double-click the LIPEditor.jar file. Alternatively, you can run it via command-line: java -jar LIPEditor.jar (Requires Java 1.5)
