A serious game framework for mobile, puzzle-styled games in medical education on university level

The idea of our serious game framework for mobile, puzzle-styled games in medical education on university level is to offer the possibility for lecturers and teachers to create their own lecture- or course-specific serious games and make it available to their students. During the game the player has to guess sequences of items (images) that have a semantic connection which is common in the medical domain to describe causal effects, e.g. in the human body. The framework is developed as a Web application in HTLM5/CSS/Javascript and optimized for tablets.
The source code is open source and available on github
The framework has been used to implement two serious games for public health interventions. The website Diabetes Game is offering information and two games on how to deal with nutrition issues.
