The utilization of heterogeneous modes of transportation in combination – specifically during a complex travel chain – is connected with barriers on different levels. A growing number of modes of transportation with individual characteristics and situational suitability create a multifaceted mobility behavior. Inefficiencies on demand and supply side result out of a segmented offer by mostly specialized service providers. Centralized mobility service platforms are able to form a technological bridge to deliver service interoperability. In cross section between competition and cooperation, the question for suitable, profitable and sustainable market forms to provide complex service configurations arises. As a result of interdisciplinary workshops, consisting of domain experts, we describe an actor model and relevant market forms. To do so, we present a conceptional tool to analyze, characterize and differentiate various mobility service platforms.
