Areas of Work
- Adaptive Computer-Supported Analysis of Cooperative Processes
I am currently writing my ph.D thesis, which has the working title "Adaptive Computer-Supported Analysis of Cooperative Processes". Hopefully, I will be able to finish it early next year.- SunSITE Central Europe at RWTH Aachen
RWTH Aachen has become a member of the SunSITE Project, and I am the editor-in-chief of this site. Besides providing public domain software, and information of general interest, our Sun SITE aims at supporting cooperation within the scientific community.
Past Work
- Regionale Kooperationskompetenz
Together with the Technikzentrum Lübeck, isf München, Plato GmbH Lübeck, and CRC Lübeck, we are involved in a project aiming at supporting cooperation between 10 SMEs in Northern Germany. More information (in German) can be found at TZL Lübeck.- SNOMED
The SNOMED project deals with the translation of SNOMED, the Systematized Nomenclature of Human and Veterinary Medicine, into German. The actual translation will be performed by a group of 10 to 15 medical people; we have developed a prototype for supporting the translation process. There is a user manual for the prototype (in German).- SFB 380: Asymmetric syntheses with chemical and biological methods
In cooperation with the Lehrstuhl II für Organische Chemie (Organic Chemistry) at RWTH Aachen, we have developed a prototypical computer support for chemists applying the Isoinversion Principle. The system prototype consists of an evaluation component that calculates the Eyring and Isoinversion plots from measured values and a database for storing and querying these values together with (hopefully) useful information.- Computer Support for Quality Management
In my Diplomarbeit (Master's thesis), I have developed a concept for computer support for Quality Function Deployment, a product planning method that was developed in Japan in the 1960s.- Hypertext
I have written my Magisterarbeit (Master's thesis) on hypertext production and reception as compared to the production and reception of linear text.
