Short Biography

Christoph Quix is a professor for Information Systems and Data Science at the University of Applied Science Niederrhein (Hochschule Niederrhein). He is also a senior researcher in the Life Science Informatics group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT) in St. Augustin, Germany, where he leads the department for High Content Analysis. Previously, he has been an interim professor for Data Science at RWTH Aachen University. He completed his habilitation at RWTH Aachen University in 2013, where he also received his Ph.D. degree in computer science. His research focuses on data integration, big data, management of heterogeneous data, metadata management, and semantic web technologies in various application areas such as Industrie 4.0 and life sciences. He has about 100 publications in scientific journals and international conferences. He has been involved in several national and international research projects, which have been conducted in cooperation with research and industry partners.

Oral Exams and Thesis Supervision at RWTH Aachen University after 2019

Christoph Quix will be still available for Depth Oral Colloquia at RWTH Aachen University in 2019. Supervision of bachelor and master thesis projects will be guaranteed for all running projects; new projects can still be started if they are related to the research at Fraunhofer FIT, e.g., Industry 4.0.
