This seminar will cover recent trends and approaches in managing and analyzing data in the Internet of Things.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a heterogeneous information source that connects data from different application domains. In this seminar, we will take a data-centric perspective and discuss recent trends and approaches for managing and analyzing data in the Internet of Things. To this end, the following two articles will provide an overview and additionally serve as a starting point for this seminar:

  • Tsai, C. W., Lai, C. F., Chiang, M. C., & Yang, L. T. (2014). Data mining for Internet of Things: A survey. IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, 16(1), 77-97.
  • Chen, F., Deng, P., Wan, J., Zhang, D., Vasilakos, A. V., & Rong, X. (2015). Data mining for the internet of things: literature review and challenges. International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks.

The kick-off meeting will take place in October. The presentations will be given in January/February.
