We understand "Gamification" as the use of game-design elements and game principles in other contexts than gaming. Community Information Systems are information systems for professional communities of practice that are using Web platforms to organize their work and their learning processes. In this thesis we research existing scientific and practical approaches to gamification of information systems in organizational and non-organizational contexts. Based on this analysis we conceptualize a gamification framework for community information systems. The realization is based on an open-source peer-to-peer community system called las2peer (www.las2peer.org) as RESTFul Web services. The application area is the gamification of collaborative working and gaming environments. The master student should have very good programming skills and interests in business management topics.
