Personalizing the User Interface of Requirements Bazaar

Thesis type
  • Bachelor
Status Running

Requirements Bazaar is an open source platform for continuous innovation by involving end users, designers, researchers and developers into the requirements collection, negotiation and prioritization processes. The website is running on and is currently used by the members of various software development communities around the world.

Currently, community members with different backgrounds, knowledge and experiences are all accessing the platform through the same user interface. To accommodate users, this thesis should investigate means of personalization to better adapt the software and its offerings to its communities and users. For example, the landing page after login could show an overview of updates on requirements the user has previously worked on. Another option could be hiding certain menu options for specific users. After the conceptual design, the findings should be implemented prototypically and evaluated with real users.

The frontend of Requirements Bazaar is implemented using state-of-the-art HTML5 Web Components, while the backend runs on top of our solid las2peer framework for peer-to-peer based services.
