This bachelor thesis aims to create a set of personalized widgets for European school teachers. Teachers can explore their project cooperation activities and achievements in the EU Schoolnet eTwinning portal, a Pan-European platform for joint projects between schools. With the means of widgets teachers can improve their professional development by learning their own achievement visually. The bachelor thesis results will be rolled out in our running project TeLLNet which aims to support lifelong learning of European school teachers in the eTwinning portal.
The challenges include how dynamic visualization of information can be carried out based on time-series analysis, how personalized visualization can be carried out large-scale data sets, how interactive web-based tools help teachers understand the basics of social network analysis to support their professional development.
The bachelor thesis candidate is expected to research data visualization technologies, to develop visualization widgets on large-scale network data, and to learn the basics about social network analysis and to visualize centrality measures of complex networks. . Knowledge about research in visual analytics and social network analysis basics will be attained. Implementation technologies will be based on JavaScript, HTML 5, Java, and our widget SDK.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge about databases, SQL, object oriented programming, and web development.
