The research of the Cluster of Excellence “Internet of Production” (IoP) revolves around making industrial data along the whole production chain available for cross-domain processing, analysis, and exchange to enable highly functional, smart, data-driven manufacturing.
Naturally, research in cross-domain industrial data exchange also features a strong need for scientific collaboration and mutual provision and exchange of relevant research data. For a large-scale project such as the IoP with nearly 200 researchers involved, this is a challenging task.
Our approach is to create a platform providing a searchable directory of IoP research datasets, make the platform available to IoP researchers as a web application, and equip it with functionalities to support the discovery of relevant datasets.
Tasks:
- Technical conceptual design and implementation of the platform
- Connection of the data source via API
- Design of a flexible and extendable user interaction surface
- Containerization and deployment of the platform as a web application
We are always looking for engaged students and are happy to provide a collaborative environment, insight into ongoing research work, and guidance for working in the scientific domain.
If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact kim@dbis.rwth-aachen.de with your CV and references of prior web app works.
