Requirements Bazaar is a web application for generating and discussing innovative new ideas for software projects, developed at the i5 chair. Beyond software, the open source platform has been used in a wide variety of societal projects, see here: https://requirements-bazaar.org
At multiple opportunities, we have demonstrated Requirements Bazaar at open source events like FOSDEM.
We are looking for a promising candidate who is willing to support us on various tasks. These include for example:
- update of developer tooling, continuous integration and delivery setup
- update of used libraries in the frontend
- bugfixing
- development of new features in front- and backend
The frontend is developed using the Polymer Javascript library for Web Components. The backend is developed in Java with our in-house las2peer microservice framework. Contributing to an existing software project is something you will often experience in your future career in the software industry. Requirements Bazaar with its community and code base offers an excellent opportunity to showcase, train and extend your coding abilities in an established open source project. We offer excellent documentation and knowledgeable, friendly co-workers that help you with your first steps.
Applicants should ideally meet at least some of the following prerequisites:
- experience in state-of-the-art software development
