The overhead of security-by-design requirements on current power grid systems (E.g., the effectiveness of encryption and the performance overhead):
The thesis will focus on comparing and reviewing different best practices and methodologies regarding security requirements on current power grid systems. However, there are various practical and industrial recommendations and best practices in the domain; there is a lack of scientific review of the approaches. The goal of the thesis is a systematisation of knowledge of the topic and a methodological comparison of the best practices, recommendations, and specifications (such as ENISA specifications) and discuss the overhead of security-by-design requirements, such as the effectiveness and performance overhead of encryption for power grid systems.
