Computer Science Research is a global scientific discipline. As for every discipline, it is extremely important to identify research gaps, find future research topics, find opportunities for interactive research activities and to discuss with the public. There are many tools in science to do these tasks, like journals, conferences, workshop, discussions and many more. On the Web a lot of researcher are using blogs, forums and other Web 2.0 tools to discuss. Here it would be great to track utterances of the related computer science communities for detecting [[weak signals|Weak Signals]]. A weak signal is a first indicator of a coming change in the future. MediaBases are data engineering approaches for social software data with a common metadata schema on the social networks and the content stored. The goal is to enable cross-media and cross-community research on complex media traces left by communities of practice in social software such as forums, blogs, mailing lists etc. MediaBase content will be then analysed for weak signals.

In this thesis a MediaBase for Computer Science Education will be created based on an existing pool of social software. The search of relevant Web resources is only the start. Theoretical knowledge about weak signals as well as practical use cases for the processing, visualization and utilization of the created MediaBase is part of the thesis work as well as the design of advanced human computer interaction as chatbots and mixed reality. To facilitate an active community around the CSE MediaBase, existing tools at the chair like DNORACLE will be utilized as well.

Interested students should have interest in databases, human-computer interaction and data science.
